Bluecat Fisheries is a Maryland-based harvester, aggregator, processor, and supplier of invasive, wild-caught blue catfish.
We aggregate wild-caught invasive blue catfish from a network of licensed commercial watermen and route product through two parallel channels; a USDA-certified partner processor for human consumption, and a byproduct/whole-fish channel serving pet food, animal feed, and aquaculture feed manufacturers.
Strategically located on the Potomac River — an epicenter of the blue catfish invasion — we deliver reliable, scalable, and traceable supplies of Chesapeake Bay Lion (Blue catfish).

Recipient of the largest MARBIDCO loan in Maryland history, which funded major expansion of harvesting, aggregation, and processing infrastructure to increase capacity for invasive species utilization.
Aggregated and removed over 500,000 pounds of blue catfish from Chesapeake Bay waters, providing measurable relief to native species (blue crabs, menhaden, white perch, and rockfish) while generating economic returns for local watermen.
Developed international sales and market channels in Southeast Asia, demonstrating ability to create new global demand for Chesapeake-sourced blue catfish products.
Actively partnered with local, state, and federal government entities to pass legislation and promote Chesapeake blue catfish as a safe, nutritious, and marketable protein source.
Bluecat Fisheries turns an ecological threat into sustainable protein, scientific resources, and economic opportunity. We are an experienced, results-driven partner ready to supply consistent volumes to governmental institutions, contractors, research organizations, and processors pursuing invasive species management, pet food innovation, or collagen/biomedical applications.
